Toys are designed at Bigjigs HQ in Folkestone by a really creative team. Furthermore, each product is designed to encourage key skills and is graded according to age appropriate guidelines. A Bit of Bigjigs History
Bigjigs family business started in 1985. With the owners very own handcrafted wooden puzzles being sold at craft fairs all over the UK. Since then, the company has come a long way. And now operates from a large warehouse in Folkestone, Kent. From where it distributes toys worldwide to 93 countries and continues to go from strength to strength.
Being teachers by profession, the Bigjigs family team have always had child development and education at the heart of what they do. Not only that, this family affair includes grandchildren testing the toys. So you know that they have the childhood stamp of approval!
Responsible Manufacturing
Bigjigs work closely with a number of production facilities in the Far East and regularly visit, taking great care to ensure that the facilities are operating ethically and are committed to the quality that we expect. Plus their directors visit the sites where their wood is sourced to ensure environmental criteria are being met.
Wooden Toys
Most Bigjigs toys are manufactured using rubberwood harvested from replenishable forests. Since it is a solid hardwood, perfect for producing quality, hard wearing toys. Safety First
Each toy in their range is safety tested by an independent lab to ensure that it meets the standards required to be sold in Europe (EN71 regulations) and/or North America (ASTM regulations). This testing process includes rigorous durability testing, chemical and paint analysis and consideration for age appropriate guidelines.
